From 4 February until 18 April 2009, will be held at the Center for Art and New Technologies (SING) Arts Center of San Luis Potosi "Centennial" (CASLPC), workshops on "Sound Art "and" Electroacoustic Composition, "taught by Ivan Sanchez.
The Sound Art Workshop has 13 members and is held on Thursdays from 10 to 14 hours, while the Electroacoustic Composition has 8 members and takes place on Thursday from 16 to 20 hours
The purpose of these workshops is to build on the sound, and create products that depart from the traditional concept of music ".
The workshop Sound Art seeks to create different formats of the genre, "is an interdisciplinary area that extends from the experimental to the sound installation". Its purpose is to intervene in space, modify and transform through art, through interactivity with the public, for the sake of aesthetic and artistic expression.
"This workshop is aimed not necessarily musicians, but to anyone interested in learning and exploring the art of sound, able to formulate new proposals, you want to explore beyond the traditional formats and teamwork." Among the contents are handled is the use of specialized software for editing and sound management, as well as the history of various forms of art.
On the other hand, the Electroacoustic Composition workshop focuses on the contemporary music in which the new technologies involved. This type of composition could be considered an extension of the music sound as it also involves the manipulation of sound, mixing and imagination.
Some of the contents included in the workshop are the various trends of contemporary music from the twentieth century, composers representative, and the technique of composition. The workshop is for experienced musicians, who possess formal academic skills and the mastery of music theory, so from there, develop new proposals in the search for a personal language as artists.
Ivan Sanchez advises the public to attend various events such as the Sonic Visions Festival, the Radar Festival in Mexico City, and the Tempo Festival, conducted by the singing during autumn in San Luis Potosi and already has three editions.
Ivan Sanchez is a graduate of the State School of Music, has participated in several courses and workshops in various parts of the country and at the Institute for Research and Coordination Acoustic and Music (IRCAM) in Paris.
