    INTRODUCTION TO THE ART SOUND

INTERESTING SEMINAR INTRODUCTION TO ART SONOROSE gave in the CENTER FOR THE ARTS

The sound artist and composer Israel Martinez, gave the seminar "Introduction to Sound Art," in order to bring musicians, artists and designers to understand the importance of sound and explore its possibilities as a vehicle of expression, beyond the discipline practiced, in music or any other art form. The seminar was held at the Center for Art and New Technologies (SING), Center for the Arts in San Luis Potosi Centennial.

According to Israel Martinez, "this workshop can be as simple or nailed as participants wish. Anyone could take this course, from people in theater, dance, literature, architects and graphic designers, the meaning is to link sound art to the personal work of each creator. It is useful for those who work directly with sound, and sound artists, who make performance and contemporary musicians. "

The concept of sound art, is a young label which was institutionalized in the United Kingdom, in the late nineties and early two thousand. Being still in its early years, there is considerable exploration for anyone who goes into this practice, which, as indicated Martinez "is still in its infancy, the story is being written every day."

It is common for sound art, it requires sophisticated equipment, but most times it's mounts, performance, ephemeral routines or sound emitted by the body and can be so large that sometimes , do not even need a tape recorder. Although there is very specialized software for all levels. "I recently did an audiovisual installation in Guadalajara, a combination of cars and sounds, watched by more than ten thousand people, something unheard of for a show of this kind."

Martinez adds, "is not about changing the mind of the creator, but to make a product more accessible to people, not its complexity but making the information is understood." Similarly, it recognizes the work of institutions like the Arts Center of San Luis Potosi and particularly CANTE Centenary because it is the only government-supported centers supporting the arts and technology at the institutional level, for those young people who would otherwise have to resign yourself to learn empirically, without a formal guide to guide them in their training.

Israel Martinez, is a composer of electroacoustic and experimental music, music for contemporary dance and butoh, audiovisual installations, interventions and actions spaces on site. Distinction Award is owed 2007 of the European festival Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria. It has been placed in a privileged position within the Mexican sound art and has performed in the United States, England, Austria, Spain, France and Colombia. His recordings include the albums "Nareah" (2009, Aagoo) and Exorcizios (2008, Abolipop).
