Create a great Centre of the Arts is betting on culture as a central element of social development; lift on the walls of what was once a prison and change the sign to prison architecture also points to the deep bond of two fundamental concepts of our civilization: culture and freedom.

After five years of working together with the Federation and prominent members of the local arts community, the academic offerings of the Center for the Arts in San Luis Potosi is registered as part of an innovative interdisciplinary educational model promoted by the National Council for Culture and the Arts.

Within this scheme, the offer of CASLPC be consolidated through professional programs, teacher training, introduction to the different artistic disciplines and generate public interest in visual arts, performing, musical, literary, new technologies, popular arts and crafts, which will encourage the creation, dissemination and research and interdisciplinary training.

The CASLPC not duplicate the work of existing institutions devoted to arts education, on the contrary, strengthen the profiles of income through induction programs and, in addition to continuing to arts education, will promote the continuous updating of their teachers.

The CASLPC be coordinated with the statewide network of cultural centers in the municipalities, to follow their own processes of cultural development.

To fulfill this mission, will liaise closely with the Support Program Municipal Cultural Infrastructure (PAICUM), considered as a determining factor for the consolidation of 33 cultural spaces in communities across the state.

It is undergoing a process that forces us to reconsider the vocation of public spaces dedicated to training and dissemination of art and culture, to renew the offer of services to recycle urban infrastructure and build another line with new needs and, also participate with own sign languages ​​of contemporary architecture.

The CASLPC is part of this process of renewal and social transformation, recovering an important architectural heritage that will impact positively on the environment.

For the Ministry of Culture of San Luis Potosi, the Center for the Arts means the possibility of launching an educational model and outreach-related to existing cultural spaces-not only reinterpret the methods and impact of teaching and artistic diffusion as determinants in the future of a community, but reinvents the relationship between culture and society to the extent that allows the development and professionalization of the creators, conducive to artistic initiation and formation of public dissemination of works culture, enrich the tourist offer and provide services through the contributions of art.
