Description of area:

It is an area of ​​training, retraining and artistic production, which converge current proposals and dancing theater pedagogy, offered by local artists, national and international, with the intent of affecting positively the way of making art for the stage, from a and interdisciplinary perspective.

One of the most important goals of the area is the establishment of formal educational programs that contribute to form multidisciplinary performing artists with comprehensive tools needed to take part in interdisciplinary projects, creating a meeting point between artists from different generations and latitudes through the production stage shows where students actively participate as a fundamental part of its consolidation as a professional theater and dance.

We consider as a priority for students to construct an aesthetic that matches their own interpretive cultural identities of our surroundings, knowing, accepting and absorbing the realities, identities and interpretive aesthetic of other cultures.

General Objective

Offering performing artists in San Luis Potosi, a rapprochement with the protagonists of the new trends in the teaching of dance and theater, generated in our country and the world to obtain products that allow exposure stage of what worked in the workshops, allowing local viewers, be part not only of finished products, but processes that help them better understand the phenomenon stage from every viewpoint. Making Arts Center San Luis Potosi, a host of unique and original events proposed, where the experienced artist can continue to evolve, the young artist to experience the new discourses of stagecraft and the child is educated in the art of his time to take to take their first steps in a professional setting, where the rigor, discipline and risk is also present.

Betting on the comprehensiveness and interdisciplinarity as an organic way of training and capacity corresponding to the dynamics of today's world, where ideas merge to create new concepts of life and art. Finally, reverse the process of international update: instead of emigrating to the world after the proposal of an artist, to bring the world and its artists at the Arts Center of San Luis Potosi, in the form of residences, to accomplish in a years, be the choice in Mexico, updating and professionalization, for not only national performing artists, but from other countries and continents.

Intensive summer courses will focus on updating and / or professional, with guest teachers nationally and internationally, also, to the initiation of children and young people in general.
